Michael Andrew Fox found himself in a pickle. According to Biography.com, he needed a stage name that would distinguish him from another guy called Michael Fox. But the actor didn't want to make use of his own middle initial because Michael A. Fox was a weird play on words. So, he drew inspiration from another star called Michael J. Pollard, and that's how the name Michael J. Fox came to be.
