The father of the extremely talented and beloved Robert Downey Jr, Robert Downey Sr was also an extremely talented actor of his time and the pioneer of experimental filmmaking in Hollywood. Appearing in blockbusters like The Twilight Zone, Matlock, To Live and Die in LA,Magnolia, and more, Robert Downey Sr made his directorial debut with the indie film Putney Swope. The veteran star acted in multiple movies, notably Hail, Caesar with his son, not unlike another iconic father-son duo Charlie and Martin Sheen. The actor died on July 7 earlier this year after battling Parkinsons disease for several years.
